Lunch specials at Francisco’s Mexican Cantina in Manuka
Three #Canberra Beanies 
Last week I had the pleasure of enjoying the amazingly filling (and quite delicious) $18 Burrito Bowl (just the insides of a Burrito on a plate, without the carbs of the wrap) at Francisco’s Mexican Cantina in Manuka Village Canberra.
You can choose from a variety of filings. I chose beef and bean and loved it. In fact I would probably have been happy with a smaller size which was only $10 (the large plate is very large and filling and could easily feed two people).
But I persevered and began to feel the early stages of a food coma after returning to work 🙂
I will definitely return to try other variations as well as other items from the specials board.

If you like Mexican food and affordable lunch specials, Francisco’s is a great option, particularly amongst the high-priced restaurant in and around Manuka.

Beach Burrito in City Walk

Because it was a Tuesday I decided to check out the usually crowded Beach Burrito Mexican restaurant on City Walk. On Tuesday’s they offer a very reasonably priced lunch special ($5 Sol beer and $3 tacos) so I ordered a beer and three tacos.
The 3 tacos were OK (a bit soft and soggy but tasted very fresh and healthy) but there are cheaper & tastier options around Canberra for Mexican fare.
If you want to try a variety of Mexican the regular Sunday Bus Depot markets taco stand make great Chimichanga, and there are a couple of new places in and around the Canberra Centre. Honkey Tonks and a few of the bars around also do cheap Mexican-style bar food. This particular meal just scored 1 #Canberra Beanie but there are more attractive options on the menu if you would like to pay a little ore than our usual $15 target.
