About

CBRFoodie is a personal Foodie blog about Canberra that focuses on affordable meals. I’ve been tweeting via @CBRFoodie and dabbling in Facebook via www.facebook.com/CBRfood  since December 2013… and am now having a crack at WordPress. This is my first attempt at a Blog. As well as a way of learning to use WordPress (I have a slightly more serious Blog at www.CampaignsDownUnder.org ) this Blog helps me share some tips about places I like to eat in Canberra with friends and with strangers. Canberra is an amazing place to live and this is one aspect of life here (affordable food) that doesn’t get much of a run in the mainstream media.

During the day (and often at night as well) I work for the ALP, mainly in Training, focused on overseas development and international relations. Many of you may know me as @Elias_Hallaj. I’ll try and keep this Blog (and @CBRFoodie) focussed on food and keep all the other things going on around me in a separate portal. Don’t hesitate to remind me if I occasionally press the wrong button on my iPhone twitter app!

    Hi ,

Your first post just appeared on Urbanspoon! Check it out:

Thanks! I just approved your blog claim. Now your Urbanspoon profile picture is displayed on your blog page. You can upload a blog-specific photo if you prefer, and can change a few other blog settings there. Also, if you vote for a restaurant that you’ve reviewed on your blog, we now show your vote next to your post everywhere on our site.

    Hi,

I’ve added a new feature so you can publish your blog posts on Urbanspoon yourself without having to wait for us to do it! Here’s how it works:

    – Make sure you’re signed into Urbanspoon.
    – Go to your Urbanspoon blog page (not your user profile): https://www.urbanspoon.com/br/344/13060/ACT/CBRfoodie.html
    – Click “Edit blog settings”.
    – In the Pending Posts section, click “Edit and publish my pending posts”.
    – Then, enter the “snippet” text, verify the date and URL, and press Publish.

    Please make sure that:
    – The URL should be the permalink to the blog post (not the blog home page, a category page, a post preview, or a service like feedproxy).
    – The snippet should be 2-3 sentences (quoted from your blog post) that gives an idea of what’s in the post.
    – The snippet should NOT include bylines, dates, address info, captions, tags, HTML code, etc.

Note: there may be a delay of 1-2 hours after you post on your blog until our system detects the post.

We’ll give you one week to do it yourself, then it’ll go into our queue to publish.

Thank you for all of your contributions, and let me know if you have any questions.

    Best regards,
    Greg

Hi Kate, I’m not sure what you mean but if it’s any consolation I too often get confused with the linking and url process on this blog and others. I’m also frustrated by the difficulty in bridging blogs on different formats such as wordpress and BlogSpot. Sorry I don’t have the answers you are seeking but i’m sure you will find them if you persevere.

    Cheers
